The project

Gruvi is a super app that simplifies the lives of people living in condominiums. However, after the launch of a redesign, we conducted usability tests and found that users were confused by the new approach to granting access to the condominium entrance for visitors. Consequently, we needed to devise a new solution to enhance access to the app's entrance area.

Challenges

  • Improve the trigger experience for access to the entrance.

  • Increase the click-through rate on the trigger.

  • Highlight the use of the entrance in various areas of the app.

Assist the user in releasing the entrance and accessing functionalities

Provide an effective solution consistent with the app's new design standard

72% of click-through rates for entrance release were done through the new card, increasing and improving access to functionalities.

A success rate of 97% for the release flow through the main app home, indicating that the highlight on the home screen yielded positive results.

Strategies to Improve the Release Trigger

After analyzing usability tests and app functionality, we noticed that the component resembled a banner too much and didn't seem clickable. Considering the "banner blindness" phenomenon, where users tend to ignore information that looks like banners, we realized the need to make the trigger more visible and interactive.

We addressed this challenge by observing how other apps handle functions requiring user action for release. We added triggers in strategic locations, presenting an attractive and clickable card for release and positioning this element in high-access areas, such as the home screen and chat.

During the project, we effectively worked with the analysis derived from research and developed an efficient solution for a significant issue in a short period, yielding positive results. This underscores the fundamental importance of research in the construction and development of a product that achieves significant outcomes. I am proud to demonstrate how research is a crucial piece in this process.
